New mod announcement, And this ones here to stay! Posted December 8, 2007 By OmegaBolt |
|
Yah, so since the last release of Apoc i've been working on another mod and now i'm pretty sure it ain't going to disappear so i'm announcing it officially. The mod's name is C&C Terminal Supremacy and is a total conversion for Yuri's Revenge (What else). It still features the three sides fighting it out over earth, the Allies, Soviets and... well not Yuri, Yuri is dead and gone so for now i'm using their Apocalypse name - the Omniscient Allegiance. The mod features very explosive gameplay with lots of fast action, as you'd expect. Each side is hopefully pretty difference, the biggest difference being between the Allies and Soviets where the Allies have an extended tech tree and the Soviets a shorter one. This mod takes place in a ravaged world where no country borders truely exist but instead borders are defined by military control. Some side information for you! Allied Forces ![]() The Allies are on the edge of being destroyed by the Soviet forces. Although they appear to have large territories, most of it is lightly controlled by military forces. They recruit everyone they can who supports "freedom" or anyone who simply doesn't like communism. They have a very contrasting tech tree - they start with low level, grunt forces virtually pulled off the streets and given a gun, using conventional weaponry. Their armoury then ascends to super-high tech weapons, utilising their classic chrono weaponry as well as experimental cloaking (Easily detectable due to lack of the ability to improve this tech, that's why its experimental) and rail technology. They have a wide variety of vehicles to choose from in combat, giving them the ability to counter almost any situation. The Allies also have the advantage of an powerful air force, which they struggled to maintain to give them an edge in warfare. Soviet Empire ![]() Grunts The Soviet Grunts are the basic ground forces of the Soviets, these are the basic Soviet people who have been conscripted into the army to bring world Communism. Their armed forces are equipt with conventional weapons, very powerful tanks but also radioactive and light mind control weaponry. Grunts are considered expendable people; they are meerly there to blindly charge into foes and hopefully outnumber them or outpower them with their tanks - there is a very limited selection of tactics for them to use. Experimental Cybernetic Legionnaires The Soviets have been known to use experimental weaponsm, but this is ridiculous! Since the beginning, Soviets have been researching robotics and cybernetics; a very early example is Volkov and Chitzkoi. Since then though, they have developed highly advanced cybernetics and robotics in secret and now they have unleashed them on the world as an army under the Communist banner. Their 'infantry' are veterans who have been given eternal life as a soldier for the Soviets. They are extremely well armoured and use powerful chainguns, tesla and laser weapons. Their vehicles are slightly more vulnerable but they pack a mighty punch most of the time and they also have a highly advanced aerial squadron ready to vapourise the enemy (There are rumours of cyborg Psi Corp troopers emerging as well!) Omniscient Allegiance ![]() The Allegiance fell apart after the destruction of Yuri. Their psychic legions fled from the Allegiance with little faith in their success and lack off commitment to see Yuri's plans through. The rest of the Allegiance decided to fight for their own cause, mostly survival and in doing so created some new weapons of their own. They have a non-existant airforce but they have powerful infantry and versatile vehicles. The Allegiance use genetic enhancing weapons and plasma as well as fire spitting units. Cba to write more, you'll just have to wait until release and more updates made etc... Small film showing a few things can be found on YouTube here. |

Atmosphere is key, We all need trees... [Pic] Posted October 19, 2007 By OmegaBolt |

Why oh why was RA2 so dull?! It's map compared to TibSuns were nothing. They had overly bright lighting without any difference in said lighting throughout the whole map. They had very little detail in them - a civilian house decorated with appropriate garden fence can be very appealing. So I have begun a journey through Westwoods maps, editing them, adding details, changing lighting and adding lots of FOLIAGE. Atm all ive done is edit a few snow maps to darken them etc (Snow is so god damn bright), but heres the results of two famous snow maps. See if you can guess what they are (Probably not that hard Map1 - Picture 1 Map 2 - Picture 1 Map 2 - Picture 2 Random Slaves & Prism Tank Faceoff |

Apocalypse 1.50 RELEASE, With trailer for newcomers! Posted September 21, 2007 By OmegaBolt |
![]() Woohoo! Finally I think it's ready for a release and to be honest I am proud of how this turned out, ignoring some outstanding changes that didn't make this release. I know I said I'd release Classic with this but that will come with the next version which isn't too far away, one which will be totally perfect in my mind, maybe including some taster campaign missions too! So for now you will have to settle with this, Apocalypse 1.50 which includes many changes to existing units, creation of some new units, tech tree adjustments, new sounds, new animations, new weapons and new balance ready for the more sci-fi hold taking place. I have hand crafted and hand mashed a new trailer together, as I did for the first version, which will hopefully win you over if your not sure if you want to download this or not. So, you can watch the trailer on YouTube by clicking this sentence or download higher quality below. [Trailer DL] Watched the trailer (Cheers for the music Apollo [C&C Apocalypse 1.50 Launcher Download] [Theme Pack 1] [Theme Pack 2] This mod requires NPatch SE 20 installed to work correctly, so download and install that too! [NPatch SE #0020] NOTE. If your getting the "Missing JPEG62.dll" message when you try and run the launcher then download this dll below and place it in your "WINDOWS" folder usually located on the C drive. This will not ruin your computer or anything like that. [JPEG.dll Download] |

Progress update, *Apocalypse News* Posted September 17, 2007 By OmegaBolt |
|
I must say, I am very happy with the way Apocalypse is moving and I'm really liking how the tech trees are right now so hopefully, after some polish and private BETAs, there will be a new release soon. It won't be quite a radically different as the last one but it does have quite a few technology changes, especially for the Allies and Omniscient Allegiance (Yuri). You would have thought that after so long since this mod was founded I would have managed to get everything right by now... I have also thought about doing a C&C Apocalypse Classic 2-3 Year Anniversary version which will be a fixed up version of the original Apocalypse, since it was very different and crude but fun none-the-less. I may batch release this with the next Apocalypse or wait until after, depends on how i'm feeling as i'll have to get to grips with the old version again. Having said this, the next version of Apocalypse (1.50) will probably be one of the last versions before the grand finale with full campaign and progressing storyline. I will however make patches and hotfixes for this version if neccessary so I really hope you all play hard and give me strong feedback. Now a small update on our technology advances Commander! This is the Pathfinder. We felt that SEALs became very ineffective during real combat so we upgraded the training plan to incorporate the use of this highly efficient, low power solar refraction rifle, or in other words a prism gun. It's new weapon keeps it as effective as ever against infantry but also makes it slightly more effective against vehicles, now a SEAL will win against a Rhino or Lasher any day. |

Warning, Unknown Object Detected, *Apocalypse News* Posted September 15, 2007 By OmegaBolt |
|
Commander, I am glad you were able to join me so late. I know you'd rather be asleep but we have some rather urgent news you need to know about. Our enemy is advancing faster than we could ever expect, both territorially and technologically. They are aquiring new technologies and adapting their forces at rate we would deem impossible. Our theory is they must have outside help, but we don't know who. Take a look at this Spy Satellite image taken earlier today; Yes, Commander, the Omniscient Allegiance are expanding their airforce with more "UFO" type units however this one has a slightly more tactical usage. We call this highlighted unit the Arbiter. It appears the Allegiance have removed the draining capability from the Floating Disc (Making it a more dangerous siege weapon for our bases) and have created this separate unit soley for the purpose of draining. This makes this and the Floating Disc cheaper to build and that the Arbiter can be trained earlier in the tech tree at radar level. Do not underestimate this unit Commander, always protect your refineries and most importantly power sources from these units otherwise your whole war effort could collapse. Though, what if these and the Floating Discs are attacking at once? Which do you choose to destroyed first? A tricky situation which surely our enemy knows will give them an advantage in warfare. Damn them! I have just received another SpySat image which seems to depict some kind of super soldier swiftly becoming known as the Nemesis. It appears to be a prototype unit, rarely used on the battlefield and may still be being tested for efficiency. Lets hope it's only a temporary threat. |
